Have you seen adult coloring books in local bookstores, supermarkets or craft stores?
I’ve purchased quite a few of them for myself already!
I am so delighted to use markers or colored pencils in my short breaks. I’m a kid at heart I must confess.
Coloring is fun and relaxing without a doubt.
Studies have concluded that coloring is a ‘stress free activity’ that relaxes the amygdala, the fear center of our brains. Giving the amygdala ‘intermittent’ rest, our overall level of stress may be reduced.
Relaxing activities enhance one’s attention and concentration prior to challenging tasks. Most importantly, it prepares our mindset to handle volatile circumstances.
Increased productivity is noted at the end of hectic days.
Anyone can google ‘adult coloring pages ‘ in the Internet and websites offering FREE printable pages for adults will be found.
Personally, I delight in coloring pages with Scriptures.
I can meditate and reflect on God’s Word when navigating across the page with colored pencils.
When overwhelmed, take the coloring book out of the drawer and color a page or two until you are relaxed for the next challenging task.
“The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.”
