Kindness from “Fleming Gardens” ~

This season of life has definitely been overwhelmingly challenging from recurrent illness, food poisoning, computer scam, internet bullying, to demanding circumstances at work… just a few on the list.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah‬ ‭43:2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God’s presence is palpable in all of our circumstances. He will not allow us to be disheartened much less be defeated.

We have victory in Christ alone.

Last month, our home computer was ‘almost’ hacked successfully but hubby interrupted the process half way when his sister alerted him of a similar computer scam in the State of California.

God’s timing was perfect.

Whew!

It is a R-E-L-I-E-F to know God protects us from catastrophe. If our personal information and bank accounts would have been completely exposed, the hackers would have wiped out our bank accounts without a doubt.

God always shows up in the midst of our unexpected circumstances.

We just need to stand still for a moment and honor the interruptions of our daily routine, we could either learn from our circumstances, meet a kind stranger or even be alerted of a misfortune. I call these ‘divine interruptions’.

Just the way God spoke to Moses from a burning bush, He speaks to us today in the least expected moments, places or in the midst of adverse circumstances.

My husband spent close to four weeks having to do ‘damage control’ from opening new bank accounts, changing all passwords, cleaning up the server to making an attempt to resale the iTunes gift cards.

Yes! the computer hackers had requested five gift cards worth $100 each.

Unbelievable but true!

Later that month, I posted an announcement about the iTunes gift cards in the phone app. titled ‘nextdoor’. It is an application where surrounding neighborhoods have access to available information from residents regarding upcoming events, items for sale, crime and so much more. I love the chat room by the way.

One afternoon, I got a message from a neighbor who lives approximately 1.5 away! She had asked about the iTunes gift cards whether they were related to a scam. I sadly responded, “yes it was”. I was quite embarrassed too I must admit.

We spent several days corresponding with each other and a neighborly friendship evolved. I admired her willingness to help a stranger. She provided us with a detailed action plan regarding ‘how to’ submit a claim to Apple.

1) Go to https://getsupport.apple.com 2) Click Billing & Subscriptions. 3) Select Gift Card & Codes. 4) Choose the topic is not listed. 5) Enter a brief description of the issue. 6) Choose your preferred support option. If they’d prefer, our direct number in the United States is 1-800-275-2273. If you’re outside of the U.S., this page will have the best number for your location: https://support.apple.com/HT201232

God is faithful yesterday, today and always.

Our burning bush was a call from sister in law who interrupted the process of scam, and a kind neighbor willing to love others unconditionally and take time out of her day to make a difference in one’s life.

I cannot wait to meet my new friend from Fleming Gardens!

I’m forever grateful for the kindness of today’s world, and most importantly I cherish God’s protection during hardships.
