“I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse; therefore, you shall choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding closely to Him; for He is your life [your good life, your abundant life, your fulfillment] and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the LORD promised (swore) to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” Deuteronomy 30:19-20 AMP
But you’ll welcome us with open arms when we run for cover to you. Let the party last all night! Stand guard over our celebration. You are famous, God, for welcoming God-seekers, for decking us out in delight.
“Don’t be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. They’ll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they’re animals. Stay clear of these people.”
Listen, God! Please, pay attention! Can you make sense of these ramblings, my groans and cries? King-God, I need your help. Every morning you’ll hear me at it again. Every morning I lay out the pieces of my life on your altar and watch for fire to descend.
“But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night. And he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season; Its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity].” Psalms 1:2-3 AMP
“Hear, O LORD, my prayer; And listen attentively to the voice of my supplications (specific requests)! In the day of my trouble, I will call upon You, For You will answer me. But You, O Lord, are a God [who protects and is] merciful and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness and truth.” PSALMS 86:6-7, 15 AMP
He answers our prayers in His perfect time, He is Merciful, He is Gracious, He is Lovingkindness, He is Truth.
For great is Your lovingkindness and graciousness toward me; and You have rescued my life from the depths of Sheol [from death]. Psalm 86:13 AMP
Lord, I know you will hear me when I cry in distress, help me not overreact when faced with challenging circumstances and help me be slow to anger and be forgiving at all times. Help me, love, extend grace and be more like You, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
